DO NOT PUT NEW PLANTS FROM SHOP IN WITH SHRIMPS!!! its better to get plants from an established tank as the shops get them imported and they are dipped in some solution to make sure they dont bring in deceases...the solution is copper based and will kill shrimps!! i have a lot of shrimps and a couple of years back bought a lot of plants from a shop on ebay, when i got them they looked great but after i put them into tank my shrimp started to keel over. i lost some but twigged on that it was new plants and removed most of shrimp to another tank. i inquired into this too late and found out the plants had been treated this way. lucky i noticed as i was not warned about this. the best plants for shrimp tank is java/fern or xmas moss..
