This is my eldest female Sawbwa resplendens. Which currently resides in a 90L tank with 10 other Sawbwa, 5 loaches and 5 amanos. This fish is of great personal importance, as it was the only female to survive when I got the first group of females back in March '23 (at the time, a very hard fish to find). She was used in the first breeding project I've ever done with fish. She managed to give me 21 fry to expand my colony and have some left to move on to others :)

OK, here goes. This is the not-often-seen Pethia setnai. A female, one of a shoal of nine P. setnai in my office 75g.

Pethis setnai, first described in 1992, is a native of India's Western Ghats. It's one of the smaller in the genus with females barely reaching 2" and males less. So they are smaller than their more famous fellow pethians, the Black Ruby, Rosy and Odessa Barbs. In addition to the red dorsal, males have red caudals and ventrals and, when in condition, a purple-ish overlay that inspired the trade name "Indigo Barb." While very attractive, the indigo mutes the bright gold and red areas so I actually prefer the female coloration. There's a male pictured in the lower section of my certification photo. I took the photos last night. This morning, this female was the object of a spawning circus amid the Java Ferns. So a note to breeders: you can get your fish to spawn by first terrorizing them with an I-phone.
