After donating my Takifugu ocellatus to a friend I have decided to go back to more peaceful fish. Yesterday I picked up a Violet Goby (Dragonfish) and it will not eat. I have offered it mysis shrimp, bloodworms, brine shrimp, and cocktail shrimp. He eagerly gulps everything up and then pushes it out his gills thus making a big mess. Why isn't he swallowing anything he picks up? He seems to be acting naturally and is even up to defending his respective territory.

might just be settling in =/

any odd looking signs?

My Rams do that a lot of the time, still put on weight though lol!

Nope, he is definately settled in. He has picked his hiding spot and is defending it as fiercely as he possibly can.

My dragon goby doesnt eat much at all. I used to target feed mysis shrimp to its burrow and go out of my way everytime to make sure it got food but saw the same thing. He would clear them out of its den with its tail and I got worried. I dont bother anymore. I feed the whole tank Blood worms and small frozen plankton and now it comes out of its burrow picks up a little and goes away for the rest of the day. I noticed mine also, in two seperate set ups, has made its home in a convenient spot where the power heads and filter current bring food to the door. I wouldnt worry too much about it. I have had mine for over a year and its always been this way.

Put in some live baby brine & watch him come to life! They have a huge mouth but are more bottom detritus/filter feeders.
