Vietnamese Cardinal Minnows

Hello all,

I just aquired some Vietnamese Cardinal Minnows at my LFS (Big Al's Superstore). Anyone have any experience with them?

I have had no experience with them but treat them the same as you would White Cloud Mountain minnows.

Don't they come from slightly warmer temperatures- or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

White cloud Mountain Minnows can be kept at warm or cold temperatures, I haven't heard of Vietnamese Cardinal Minnows and i am now intrigued to see a picture of them.

I couldn't find a post of mine and then I came across this old one. I felt it was my duty to respond but it's pretty cool that you noticed the time difference.

Unfortunately, the night before last, one of those minnows started swimming weird due to the level of ammonia I have in the tank. I had performed a 50% water change the day before because the test I conducted read 2 for ammonia. The minnow is still alive but does not look good and I feel really bad.

Yes, I purchased them from Big Al's....it was the first time I had ever seen them there.
