Fish Crazy
Please excuse the double post but nobody has responded in emergencies and I am getting very worried. [post="1845599"]original post with pics[/post]
My male guppy has an extremely swollen abdomen (he was fine 5pm yesterday, in a terrible state lunchtime today) I put him in the hospital tank and he swam around rather listlessly for an hour or so and is now lying on the bottom of the tank not moving although he is still upright. He's ignored peas and all foods. I haven't seen him poop since I put him in the hospital tank about 5 hours ago. The swelling is right at the front of his body, no signs of anything protruding from his body.
I lost another male a few weeks ago -- he died overnight having displayed no symptoms other than slowing down slightly -- but because he was the biggest and oldest in my tank and my water stats were all fine I wasn't too suspicious. The others are all fine.
But now I am worried that this might be an internal parasite problem or a bacterial infection & that my other guppies might also be at risk. Is there anything I can do? Is there even any medication available in the UK for internal parasites?
