Hey there guys.

A couple of my angels have been itching a fair bit for a few days but i didnt want to treat till i was sure what the issue was, this moring a few of my angels are covered in slime and such.

Was just wondering if pimafix can be used to treat velvet or should i stick with the treatments that say so on the box?

Pimafix won't do any harm, but it is anti-fungal and anti-bacterial, definitely not anti-parasitic.

If you are sure this is velvet (and there is no other possible cause of their scratching and sliminess) then I would use an anti-parasite medication (and obviously, consider why they got infected in the first place).

What are your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Any change in ph.

Any signs of darting or erratic swimming.
Any signs of laboured breathing or gasping at surface of tank.
Any red pin prick marks on sores on the body.
Any tiny white spots on the fish.
Any yellow golden spots, gold dusting, or rusty coloured varnish on the fish.
What do the fish gills look like.
Do any fish swim in a jerky movement.
