I have two weather/dojo loaches, and they will suck up anything and everything that fits in their mouths-and simply attack anything that doesn’t just for the fun of it.

However I only have TetraFin Flakes and Novo-PlecoChips for them, and I want to vary their diet a bit more.

What do you lot suggest? Anything I can find around the kitchen that can be used?
I have seen these little packets of live bloodworms and packets live shrimp things at the aquarium store. They are £1 a packet; and that packet can only be opened once.

I have hesitated on buying these as it would be a waste if the loaches don’t like them, and secondly I don’t want to foul up their water.

Would the loaches eat the live bloodworms/shrimps? And how do I know if the little packets are enough or too much for them to consume?

Sorry if this seems like a novice question.

Thanks

loaches absolutely love snails :)

How daft of me, i forgot to mention about the snails!
I do indeed throw in the odd MT or Trapdoor snail into the tank. And i presum (although i never see them eaten); they are eaten as i never see the snails (nor shells) again after a few days later.

*Thanks for the super super fast reply though geo :)

they should really enjoy the live bloodworm.

The good thing about live food is that it doesnt really matter if they are all eaten at once - its not like they will decompose like dead food. As live food, they pretty much continue to stay alive untill eaten.

I pour the contents of the sachet into a small net, rinse with a small amount of water to clean em then tip them in.
