I was told to vacuum the gravel at every water change, but I'm thinking why should i vacuum it if that is where the good bacteria is housing. I think that is why I'm having this bad bacteria bloom in my tank right now....could this be the result of vacuuming the gravel?

Should I just leave the gravel alone and just do water changes?

All suggestions welcome.

Vac'ing the gravel won't remove the good bacteria :D

What it does remove is fish poop and decaying food which in turn keeps the water parameters nice and your fish less prone to diseases etc :D

When you say bacteria bloom, do you not mean algae bloom?

No its bacteria its milky white, I recently had a bad algae bloom and i bought a uv filter and the algae is gone, trade one problem in for another. :( ok i will continue the vacuuming. thank you.
