V2 400 Skimmer

i have a v2skim 400 skimmer and it said in the instructions you can take of the skimmer cup but when i try to its realy tight and i carnt get it off. so can you take off the skimmer cup? thanks

oh i will be very interested in the replies you get to this Harry.. i have the same one and was even told at the LFS that if you open the screw it will come off.. i can`t find " the screw" and have been syphoning off the contents of the cup since ive had it

on the larger models they just lift off..but for the life of me i can`t get this one off

I just got a used skimmer the same brand and the 400 and the cup just lifts right off for cleaning. Hmmm

it could just be very tight because its new

or i spose it could be stuck on with salt... nar im not trying,cant afford a new one just now i i break it ( which would be just my luck)

Just use a turkey baster Shelagh, thats what I do- can't be doing with taking out the box on the Deltec each time although would probably be quicker

tap it gently around the base of the cup and it'll come out. Remember to tap all the way around and not just one spot...

I suspect because it's new it's a bit tight - i can pull mine off by had most times now

i got the cup off it was very easy all i did was push the bottom of the cup and it started to come off then i did the other side and it was off. thanks Jimy

They losen up after a bit, just dont push it all the way on when you replace it!
