Lol ye today while fishing my local canal with my mate, i heard a lot of commotion a few yards from me and my mate, so i went over to check it out, i thought he had hooked into a big one, but sadly was hooked into a duck 
It wasn't the anglers fault he was fishing with his bait on the bottom of the canal bed, and the duck dived down and picked his bait up.
So anyway after the duck was hooked, it started to try and fly, but only getting as far as some reeds, which caused it to get tangled up, so i quickly stepped into the 4 foot deep FREEZING! canal grabbed the duck securely, and then quickly slipped the hook out, luckily the angler was using barbless hooks
not barbed.
The duck didn't look happy for a few minutes, but soon joined the rest of them with no harm done.
Ducks can be quite annoying when anglers are fishing, but i always hate animals in discomfort so i couldn't just let the duck suffer.
Im sure most people here would of jumped in to help a tangled up duck
