Hi all

60L tank with several fish in, all community tank, been running for 6 months now

Over last couple of days my female Honey Gourami seems to look a bit unhappy, she used to swim around alot but last couple of days has been sat at the bottom and sometimes laying on her side. She swims to the top then swim backs to the bottom and lays/sits

She looks fine, no whitespot or anything that I can see, she seems to be struggling to swim but other times looks fine. Its weird to describe but I cant think what could be wrong but does seem to be unhappy. I havnt seen her feeding either properly over the last few days but sizewise seems ok perhaps a little smaller than before,

Just a bit worried :p
Thanks in advance

I just realised that she did have stringy white poo recently too!

I was reading around on here and I have put some peas in which has seem to eaten but should I do anything else (I will buy some frozen foods sunday instead of flakes to give her more variety just incase she is constipated)

Any meds just incase it is bacterial?

Does she look bloated.
it could be swim bladder, bacterial infection, internal parasites.

Can you issolate her and try a bacterial med.
Keep feeding the peas.
Improve diet with more frozen foods and green veg.

I havnt noticed any bloating on her

I dont really have anything to seperate her in, I have a large bucket I use for water changes, and a spare heater but nothing to airate the water.

I could add a bacterial med to the community tank just incase others have it (which I dont think they do)

Any meds to reccomend? thanks

What's your location for a med?

Poole, Dorset

Looked at a few, King and also api ones Melafix is it?

I have looked at tank a minute ago and im pretty sure its not bacterial as one or two harlequins also have long poos, so i will treat them tommorow if I can find the right med

Thanks for the help Wilder much appreciated!

Ok.
Good Luck.
