Hi Neale,

My lfs has some Toxotes chatereus which they are selling as fresh water archers.

Are they correct?

Thanks
Squidward

Almost certainly NOT correct. So far as I know, Toxotes chatareus is a brackish water species. It enters freshwater to be sure, and may well be caught there and sold as a "freshwater archer" but for your retailer to tell you it will be happy in freshwater permanently would be misleading.

Cheers, Neale
