Do tourmaline balls really enhance aquatic health, especially for shrimp? Thanks

I would highly doubt it. It is a hard silicate mineral which I doubt is very soluble (though I wasn't able to find any info on solubility), and even if it were, is it releasing Ca ion, Na ions, Boron, Lithium into the water. I think it is a scam to use it in aquariums. In my vast experience, one shrimp tank, the best way to keep your shrimp happy is by having a well established tank that has a lot of biofilm availability. I would like to see whatever research was done for it to be used in an aquarium. As a mineral it does have some interesting optical properties.
