Current inhabitants in my 48 USG tank.

otos - wherever they please, stuck to things ;)
Panda Cory's - on the bottom
Pentazona Barbs - bottom third mainly
Dwarf Gourami - all over the place

With the above in my tank, im looking for something with a bit of colour to occupy the top half of the tank, and to give it some life and movement. Im open to suggestions on a shoaling fish or a couple of slightly larger fish.. They just have to spend time there and look colourful.

What would you go for. I know its down to personal taste, im just after inspiration :good: . I like fish like blue rams and neon/cardinal tetras..

Cheers

i have some green sailfin molys in mine and they spend lots of the time at the top and the colourings on the male are gorgeous,

ther very colourful, come in blood red (above) wild colour which has a blue stripe running threw ts yellow body, very pretty

My vote for hatchetfish as well, alway thought they looked neat.

Thanks for the responses.. ;)

How colourful are hatchetfish though.. The pictures i have seen dont seem to highlight their colouring. Harlequin rasboras seem a more colourful option. I take it they are top half of the tank fish....

i got 9 copper harlequins for the top half of my tank...
will be getting some danios soon...

I've got rams, and they tend to hang around the bottom, as do most other dwarf cichlids. Cardinal tetra's shoal around the middle /bottom in my tank, too.
What about Golden Wonder Panchax? They're colourful and mostly around the top. They're a type of killifish. I've only seen them fairly infrequently in LFS round where I live though.

They are nice.. not seen them around here either. :( I will keep my eye out though..

I had a look at some Harlequin Rasboras at lunch, and i am considering a nice shoal of them unless there are any other suggestions..

Cheers
