Well I'm moving from Erie, Pennsylvania to Nashville, Tennessee on the 30th of December.

I've had to part with 3 of my tanks (I have them posted in the Buy/Swap/Sell section if anyone is interested), and I'm down to one 10 gallon tank which I thought would be pretty manageable to move (and if, heaven forbid it got broken -- going out and buying another 10 gallon tank real fast won't cost too much $$ either).

The tank has a trio of endlers and some fry, some peppered corys, and lots of live plants.

My plan was to bag the fish and put the bags in a cooler to help keep the heat in.
Is this good? Should I try to bag them individually?

And for the live plants -- is it better to bag them like fish or wrap them in wet paper towels and then bag them w/ out water in the bag?

And I know I should keep the filter media wet if possible -- should I bag that as I would with fish also?

Any other tips?? Thanks for the help. :D

I would split the fry into different bags, but certainly more than one per bag, maybe 2-3 depending on bag size. Id also put the endlers into seperate bags, as well as the corys. The live plants i would wrap wet paper towells around them and put them into bags aswell with some water so theyll stay moist. Depending on how cold its going to be where your putting the fish, Id put a heatpack in with them so they dont get cold.

Also, be sure to check the water parameters there so you can acclimatise them accordingly!

Dont know if this is 'correct' but its what id do....

Put the fish into bags, id say 2 to a bag unless you have got big ones. Put them in a cooler, or a polystyrene box with more bags of warm water, perhaps a heat pack if you think you'll need it.

Put whats left of the tank water into some sort of water carrier, or if needs be in another bag and put the filter in that.

Pack the tank up but leave the gravel etc in it and try to disturb that as little as possible - id bag up the plants in plastic bags with just a little water, certainly thats how they arrive when i buy them online.

Move, and first thing you do is set up the tank and let it settle, get the filter going, get it up to temp and float your fish, then unpack the car etc, then release your fish.

Good luck, i hate moving, and i hate swapping out tanks, i think id REALLY hate moving with tanks!
