im not too sure what to think. i have been treating the tank for white spot with the last dosing being done on monday. tonight i have noticed things in the water. at first i thought there were teeny tiny bubbles everywhere which made sense as i have added a second canister filter to the tank to cycle it for another tank. its a 260L with 2 canister filters equalling 1500lph between the two of them, a 1200lph power head and a 500lph internal filter. the 500lph canister is the one cycling. anyhoo they both have spray bars plus a have a large air stone in the tank so i thought it must just be lots of oxygen in the water.

but then i started thinking (as i do which can be my downfall sometimes) and was worried that it could be parasites in the water. i hear they are free swimming for a time and this is when they are able to be killed. sooooo, how can i tell what they are and if it is parasites will it be ok to treat the tank tonight along with a water change or should i wait until tomorrow when it is due (its a three day treatment).

Did you add that second filter before or after you finished your medication on your fish? If you added it before or during treatment it might mess up your cycling starting on that filter.

It may just be lots of oxygen bubbles however there is a bubble disease called gas bubble disease.

Check THIS out and scroll down to 'Gas Bubble' Disease. See if this seems like anything.

Is there anyway to get a picture up?
What size tank are they in?

i didnt think about that with the filter...bugger oh well it can start now :)

i read that thing on the gas bubble thing but there are no physical signs of anything on any of the fish.

i tried taking some pics but they just dont show up on the camera. i may take the internal filter out as i was thinking of putting that in my convict tank anyways as the power head in there is too strong. doing a water change today and stuff so ill work on it then :) thanks for your reply

ps its a 4ft 280L

yeah that was my next thought. Do a water change and see if that helps with anything.

Hope all turns out well....

Sorry to hijack, but i have the same type of thing. Are they like little mites? white, about 1mm or so in diameter? Ive done a water change and gravel vac but not sure what else to do :S
