Thinking of giving up here. I had Oscar die yesterday then today it was rosie, firetail and jaws (2 silversharks and 2 female guppies). Guys help me out also read my post about guppy dieing now for more info.

dnt give up, find out whats causing the problem, u have to explain more

read silvershark dyeing right now to explain oscar and guppy dyeing right now to find out about rosie. Firetail died over night. I think Jaws died in the same way as oscar but he had some red dots on his fins.

have you done anything to the tank recently added anything or changed anything? do a water test. record stats. have you fiddled with your filter? how big is the tank? how long has the tank been going?

i dont really feeling like looking for through your posts to find information on another post to figure out what the problem is.

all i can say is relax. if your stats are good then do your research on possible illnesses or parasites. ive lost 200 dollars when a past tank crashed....but its a good reason to buy different fish:) if you lose this tank...just back up your knowledge and start over from scratch as an experienced aquariast. hopefuly youve had a long time with your fish...id be PO'd if i bought all these fish and they die right away...ugh!

good luck :good:

under tap water!!! theres youre problem!! never do it under tap water

aww puppy, dont give up, u have all the makings of a fantastic fishkeeper. when i started i was a -flippin muppet -for want of a better word-, but its does take paitence, and sadley a few losses, dont think of this a failure on your part, think of it as a learning curve, you know now that you musnt wash the filter under the tap, and that you need to do reg water changes etc, i bet if a very new member came on asking questions, you could help out, with what you have already learned, i know its been a really hard week for you, but please, please dont pack it in, keep reading, reading, and reading,
ask your dad to give you an advance on your poacket money and get a nitrite and ammonia test, this way you will always know, exactly where you are, if he wont, then do frequent water changes everyday, maybe just a few jug fulls, but its better than none at all.

you are very young and are having to take a lot of information in very quickley and i think you are wonderful for doing it,
please dont quit :)
lots of love

Thanks u lot rule! Minx told me 2 do a 50% water change every day so i am but whever i do this more seem to die! And these learning curves you say are costing me loads! I only have #£40 left from my b-day then i wont be able to buy anything. (I don't get pocket money)

wash half the filter pads in tank water when u have siphoned it out. it will save the bacteria dying because everytime u have been washing ur filter your tank has been re cycling.

any amount of fresh water is good at this point :)
this is actually only an expensive hobby if you make it expensive, all you need are a few basic meds, and your water conditioner,food...i know its tough on you, i have been there, infact we all have at some point, but if you chuck in the towel now, it will have all been a massive waste of time and money for you... i think you`re better than that!!
all you need to concentrate on at the moment are your water changes, hopefully within 5 weeks you will be wondering why on earth you were thinking about giving it up,and we are all here to support you every step of the way :)
