iv been thinking about getting some wild type bettas for some time now, and was wondering if anyone here has any recommendations on what type is a good starter species? Also if anyone has any experience with them that might be willing to share?

imbellis and mahachi are supposed to be some of the easiest wilds. Imbellis care is for the most part identical to splendens, except you can keep a bunch together. Mahachi is the only wild species i have kept, and they are fairly easy, just add a lil salt to the water. Also, they can be quite shy, so make sure to have lots of cover for them :)

also, if you want to try a mouth brooding betta, try betta pictus, the guppy's of the betta world haha
also very shy tho.
