Okay guys, this is a genuinely freaky, true story which happened to me today.

I'm posting this at three 42 am.

A little back ground:
My tank has had high ammonia for many months and I've been working tirelessly to get it down. Now I test the water every 2-3 days along with daily water changes. That's pretty standard procedure. I last tested the water on Tuesday and wasn't going to do it again til the week end.

BUT.....
I had the freakiest nightmare/ dream.
I dreamt I woke up on a Saturday and turned my tank light on to find all the fish dead Cept for one.

He said to me " Help "
Then a huge monster snake thing jumped out of nowhere and ate him.
It hissed and wrecked my tank.
Then for what ever reason I tested the water while running away from the monster in my dream. While I was comparing the results, the tank magically fixed itself. I looked around.

No monster. No dead fish.

All was well.

Then I woke up in a cold sweat.

I had the strangest urge to test the water. It is about 3:20am.
I tested it.

The results came back fine.

While I'm thrilled about the water, I'm also convinced I'm a psychic. Thoughts?

What are this weeks lottery numbers :D

I've had lots of dreams about things that then happened or they where very close to what happened in the dream I think it's the brain connecting peaces which don't actually go together.
Dreams are just your brain sorting through things that have actually happened to you so at some point I'm sure you have been thinking about the tank getting better so when it dose which is very likely to happen then it seems like it was your idea ahead of time.
Bottom line dreams are weird and nobody can say for sure why you had yours :)
Ps congrats on the tank being better.

Or you could just be a bit crazy? Maybe its lack of food?

Or lack of sleep?

Be checked fish tank and there's no monster. All fish are fine.
Phew, that's a relief.

Once when I knew my mum's cat was ill, I had a dream that I went to collect the cat from my childhood house and carried him safe in my arms on a journey. The next morning I got the phone call to tell me he had died.

You could interpret the dream that the cat came to visit me one last time and I helped guide his furry little soul to the kitty afterlife

But I know that's not what happened. I already knew he was seriously ill and my brain was just dealing with the situation in its own way, just like RRAquariums said. The timing was just coincidence but there is a human tendency to read too much into dreams!

I believe Ebenezer Scrooge put it best... "There's more of gravy than grave about you."

I had a dream about my fish and posted it on an other forum who claim to be the friendliest forum out there. A guy called me insane and a follow up comment said they were not joking. So I let rip and told them to delete my account. And the moderators over there told everyone they banned me which wasn't true (I asked to be deleted). lol, That's the day I joined here.

Well, they lied.  We are the friendliest forum...

Once I had a dream where a giant python was hiding in my grampas storage unit. I was trying to lock it in there but my hands kept fumbling around. I went back in and the snake tried to eat my precious gourami, so I jumped on it.
