I can't take the credit for this really... this is 2 pothos vines in hang on pots, but this tank has a much different look than my other tanks with similar... I think my Tiger Silver Dollar, grazes heavily on the roots, causing them to get bushy like this, rather than long and vine like in my other tanks... they are still aggressive growing vines, and they are really drawing in the water, and thus mulm, giving it kind of a dirted natural look ( same ceramic bio media that I use in all my tanks )

I use a ceramic ball ( I call them "Cocoa Puffs" because they look like the cereal of that name ) being round balls, they are probably not the most effective bio media, because of their smooth shape, but the roots can't grow into them, so they make working on the plants later, easier... I used to completely fill the pots around the roots, but as the roots grow, they got so compacted, so now I only fill the pots about half way, just enough to add weight to make the pots more stable on the tank, and hold the plant into the pot, to begin with...
