Hi,

I was posting on the emergency forum last night as one of our Panda Corys had suspected Septicemia. After treating him and the tank with King British Bacteria Control (couldn't get hold of anything stronger), we woke up this morning to find that the little guy didn't make it

Both our remaining Pandas seem fine and the Danios are ok too, keeping an eye on them though just in case.

Now that we have removed him, is there anything we should do with the tank like a water change or another bacteria treatment to make sure the water is safe for the others?

Lesson learnt from this - don't be too eager to stock any more fish until your tank is definitely ready!

Thanks :)

I'd like to know the answer to this question too please having lost my first fish yesterday too.

If none of the other fish are showing symptoms, then to be safe you should make a water change. However, i'm not sure if another antibiotic dose is in order here. I know that with ich you treat the tank for a fairly long time after to 100% eradicate it, but septicemia, im not sure if that stays in the tank for too long.

Hopefully someone with more helpful advice will come along :D

P.T.
