Recently found my mint copy of The Aquarist magazine while sorting through my fishy stuff. Anyone remember it? Cost one shilling and three pence apparently?

Got some great articles in it aswell and some old style adverts which just crack me up! Some of them remind me off those crap prizes you could win on Bulleyes!

Ok will show these beauties off now Bullseye stylee........(can't beat a bit of bully )

* No radio or television Interference (huh?)
*"Kwickchange Longlast" diaphragm (whatever!)
*Supplied in handsome cabinet, colours red, blue, black or black crocodile finish! (classy!!!)

Number two....A Guppy tank!
*These aquaria are heated by a small electric light bulb situated in the base and a similar bulb in the cover! Retails at 36 shillings and 8 pence! (how much heat can one bulb emit?)

and bully's special price......A tubular type aquarium!!!!
*All over anti-drip, rust-proof, avaliable in sea-green, copper or grey, cellulosed in poloychromatic and glazed with Black magic a leak proof glazing compound!!! :hyper:(yay!)

Other adverts advertising "****** Barb" for sale!!!! Slightly politically incorrect me thinks!!!

sorry for the massive pictures! Not quite sure why the air pump one wont work? -_-

hahaha that's amazing!
those tanks would be collectors items now
i love old magazines and books, how unpolictically correct they are!

my dad has a book from 1910ish i think, about australia, and how all the "natives" are all stupid incompetant people and lesser humans. shocking, but funny, and this was a childs geography book!
