Hey there Normie. Ya know the US Postal system is not the only one with inefficiencies.
In fact Email usage is plagued by inefficiency, with the average user receiving 1,825 spam emails annually, totaling over 14.5 billion daily. Roughly 4.5 billion junk messages are blocked daily, yet 40% of users have 50+ unread messages. Additionally, 99% of users check email daily, with 58% checking first thing in the morning.
But the good old USPS makes sure we get your fish porn delivered to ya every month Norm.
After me and all the boys at the Post Office read it.
Cheers, Cliff

P.S. I ordered a beer and put it on your table.

My JAKA arrived today as well. Love the eye-popping photo spreads on the Chromaphyosemion group.

How's TFH these days?
TFH is a great magazine . The print and paper quality are superb but you know how it goes from issue to issue . Sometimes every article is a winner and sometimes it’s a mix of good and ho-hum . Where TFH shines lately is in their articles on wild habitats . It’s National Geographic like to me with good pictures of exotic locales and writers who know how to describe their visits well .
I noticed that the typeface in the JAKA changed and I spotted several typos . There was talk sometime back about changing printers and I think they did it . The photo quality remains high however .

"Where everybody knows your name". And I couldn't figure out who Cliff Claven was.

Didn;t know he had a last name.

Is the JAKA coming out regularly now? And are they actually using Chromaphyosemion?

Comes out four times a year just like always and they mention that Chromaphyosemion is a subgenus . The article is a reprint from 2021 . This issue also marks the first issue with Greg Niedzielski as editor as Charlie Nunziata finally retired his typewriter

Ha! I knew I had seen all those Terceira photos before! Remember when JAKA was monthly?

When I quit the AKA, It was 4 times a year, but not every 3 months. They were having trouble getting material, and doing a lot of reprints. The knowledge is there, but they had a patch where it seemed no one was sharing it. As a foreign member, I was there for the JAKA and to support the Killifish of West Africa site.
I was able to be involved for my first 20 years, but as the border closed and people stopped writing, it became a dead end. I think people in the US who care about killies should join it, as without active members the group will die. There's nothing stopping Americans from making the AKA work, British members from joining the BKA, or French ones from the KCF (I'm an international member of both) or Germans from the DKG. If you have a killie association (or Cichlid, livebearer etc) on a national or even local level, it will enrich both the hobby and the group if you join and get active.
