Because of this heat wave my tank is at about 84 degrees compared to the normal 74 that it is set to.

Touch wood I have lost no fish because of this but it seems to be increasing every day by a degree.

Question: Is there a way of cooling the tank down?

Any help or advice gratefully received

Thanks

Turn aeration up, and just run a fan in the room.

one thing ive noticed is when you get that dreaded ich (and u will ;-p) you usually medicate the tank and raise temp up to around 29 - 30 c (help alot with quickening the stages of the white spot parisite to make med alot more effective)

Ive been medicating at 30 c now for nearly a week and notice no visable effects of stress on my fish

Make sure your oxygen levels are high enough tho by providing good surface splash and a pump if possible coz higher level temp = lower level oxygen

Maybe a slow increase in temp from say 25 to 29 c over the course of a few hours wont do that much damage to the fish so if a day or 2 of hot "brittish" weather takes hold maybe you dont need to worry

*i am still a newbie so dont take what i say yet as gospel, just letting you know that my aquarium seems healthly at 30 c for 1 week*

I hope after 3 years, he sorted his problem  Sorry had to add that.

Probably hot again, it's that time of year. We have several current topics similar to this, topic closed.
