ive decided to give up on brackish i simply cannot find the fish which kind of makes it pointless having the tank doesnt it!

what i want to do is use the tank for a planted community basically move my fish over into this larger tank.

how would i go about cleaning and sterilizing this tank as i know cories(which will be going in here) are highly intolerant of salt.

can i basically just clean it how i would clean any other tank with water and alot of patience or do i need somthing slightly stronger? :good:

Most likely a simple rinsing and rub down would do. I guess you could also use vinegar and water or bleach and water but I would think that simply rinsing would get rid of all the salt. The amount left would be so minute, I don't see that it would be a factor.

figured it was worth checking really to be safe u never know what experiences other ppl have had

emptied it now anyhow and in the process of cleaning it :good:

cheers for the help rdd1952 :good:

If you can you could move it outside and just let the hose run it it for a while to dissolve and rinse the salt away. If its too big you could do some water changes with hot water to dissolve the salt faster.
