Hi all ,

I posted a topic last week about my tank levels which were as follows

Ammonia 8.0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10

Anyway you chaps said to stick with the water changes everyday and monitor the levels. Well it worked .New Readings are

Ammonia 2.0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 40

This happened overnight .

Thanks to you all .

O.k what next keep up the water changes till the nitrate level drops?

Glad to see things are improving. Your ammonia is still high though and that is of much bigger concern than nitrate of 40. so yeah, keep up the water changes, but your focus should be on the ammonia level more than the nitrate level really.

Hi today my readings are as follows.

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 40

Thats better.

What should i do about the Nitrate?

I was doing a 10% water change every day , now i will go back to 2 times per week.

10% a day is less effective than 50% per week. Once your cycle is complete, and it sounds like yours is, you just do changes often enough to keep nitrates low. Most of my tanks I try to keep them under 15-20max. Depending on your fish, lower or higher levels may be acceptable.
