okay i have a 29 gal with 1) fig 8's 1 inches, 4) GSP's that are 2 1/2 inches , 2) GSP's that are 1 inches and now my girlfriend gave me 2) her " Takifugu ocellatus-Fugu puffer" that are 1 inches. and my questions are, one why do they dig themselves under gravel? and two Ive notice that in other forums the temp is Temp:27C and lower than the GSP's am i killing the "fugu's" ? my temp atm is 78*

Are you talking about T. rubripes or T. ocellatus? They're different animals.

Both are subtropical species, and T. ocellatus especially only lasts a couple of months at tropical temperatures. It really must be kept in a cool aquarium; 15-18 C is about right. Because of this, it is not compatible with GSPs. Because Takifugu are biters, they are not normally kept in community tanks.

Yes, it's normal for all Takifugu to burrow.

Cheers, Neale

hey once i get some smaller pictures ill post them up so you guys can tell me what type they are... and thanks " Neale", Cheers to you

Your tank is too small for that stocking are you going to upgrade?

Each GSP needs 30 gallons really, I have 2 in a 55 gallon and that's the bear minimum.

Forealz?

yah i am going to up grade to a 75g in a few weeks just making room atm, but how big are your gsp?

Yes I'm affraid so they can grow to 6 inches!

Mine are juveniles - about an inch and half long so tiny.

It is frustrating how such little fish need so much space put they are worth it.

75 gallon is massive, a lot of maintenance there lol, I don't envy you.
