I'm moving in a couple of weeks, and due to this, I see a good opportunity to switch my stock in the tanks, (and to redecorate and add more stock B-) )

- 30 Gal Stock:
3 Mollies (1:2)m/f
4 Platies (1:3)m/f
2 Guppies f

-20 Gal Stock:
1 Betta m
1 Molly f (She doesn't get along with the other three)
1 Panda Cory
3 Juvi Otto's.

Now I know what my ideal set up would be, but the Betta sort of makes it difficult. I don't want to set up a 3rd 5 gal for just him, but I also don't want to set up a divider in either tank. (So I think I'll be rehoming Casper the betta :/)(I heard Anabantoids (sp?) Such as betta and Gourami should not be kept together, and the three mollies would tear poor Casper to bits if he lived with them)

But my plan was:

-Possible 30 Gal Stock:
1 Molly f (Misfit from 20 gal)
5 Panda Cory's (1 from 20 gal plus buy some more)
4 Platys 1:3 m/f
2 Guppies f (I'm thinking of getting them a boyfriend. If I did I would move all three to the 20 gal)
2 Gourami (Possibly Honey gourami?)
8 Zebra Danio (Because they're the cheapest schooling fish at the pet store)

Is the stock for the 30 gal acceptable or would it be over crowded? My Platy's are very efficient at eating their fry so I don't think breeding would be a problem, but for compatibility and such, does it look okay? Does anyone have some suggestions for what I could change to perhaps make it better somehow?

-Possible 20 Gal Stock:
3 Mollies 1:2 m/f
3 Juvi Otto's

For the 20 gal I'm looking to add more fish, for obvious reasons. If I find a male guppy I like I'd add him and my two female guppies to the 20 gal, but that's still a pretty sparse tank. I was wondering if I could add Barbs of some kind, Tiger or Green perhaps? And maybe a small school of tetra of some kind, suggestions would be great :)

Tiger and Green barbs can be vicious little things, be very careful if you go down that route. Cherry barbs, I believe, a bit more community-friendly. If you want tetras, think rummynose or glowlight.

How long is the 30gallon tank, because Zebra Danios do like a llllloooooooonnnngggggg one to zoooom around in. They also like their water to be considerably cooler than everything else. Probably worth seeing what the next least expensive shoaling fish is!

So perhaps not the barbs I was looking at.. okay.

As for the 30 gal, it's 36L so its got some room to it, but perhaps I'll look into other fishies, thanks :)
My main concern was the 30 gal would be over stocked, thats what I'm paranoid about :p

I shall continue my research :) :p
