Hi guys!

Some of you may remember that a couple of years ago I started a similar thread asking about recommended LFS in Norwich. Well now I have moved and am asking exactly the same question!

I have moved to Camberley in Surrey. I have been to Tropical Aquatics in Blackwater but was not very impressed, then went to Lynchford Aquatics in Fanrborough which seemed much better.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Bring back an old thread but i goto squires garden centre in bagshot lea, so far no problems with any of there fish and very good price, cheaper than anywere else i have been local. I am from farnborough havent been to the 1 in blackwater yet and dont think i will bother.

you are right down the road from me!

There are lots in the area, the closest two that I recommened are...

Maindenhead Aquatics in 'Ascot' - straight down the A30 from Camberley.
Maindenhead Aquatics in Bracknell - does some quite interesting fish, great for dwarf cichlids and killis.

Lynchford Aquatics in Farnborough is pretty good as well

There's a small aquatics section in Notcutts in Bagshot, but dont have much to choose from.

I used to live in Blackwater. Lynchfords is an okay place. I was working in Staines so used to go to Queensboroughs outside Wraysbury quite often. It is an awkward place to get to, but worth it. I don't know how active Tongham Aquarist Society is these days, but they had an open show earlier this year.

It's an odd place. It is very much like a wholesaler but they had no problem with me, and others, going in there. It was always wet and somewhat chaotic, but they had some great stuff in there. You drive along an unpaved road, park shortly before in a clearing to the right and walk up. Things might have changed, it must be 15 years ago, while I was living in England that I used to go there. It is most unlike the regular LFS.

Martin Heywoods place in Farnborough used to be the best place, but is not there anymore.

Look forward to a report!

just been. There were three commercial style properties, two of which were boarded up and vacant. I can only assume that it has long gone. Would explain the lack of internet presence.

just looked on Google Earth.....seems I didn't go far enough down the road. There was a sign that stated "residents only past this point" so I turned around. However, it appears that you need to drive past that sign to find it.

.....maybe tomorrow then!

From memory, it was a rambling house/greenhouse/shed like affair.

there is a building on Google Earth that shows several large greenhouse style structures.....annoyingly about 100m from where I turned round.

only 10mins drive from here though so some time this week....

I was just looking for contact details of the place and found it under Fish and Chip shops.

Give them a bell, it might save you a trip.

I'd pointed the Fish and Chip oddity out to them, they have changed it now, however, the "add a comment" box still talks about restaurants.

Hopefully by now you would have discovered Maidenhead Aquatics in Ascot or Henry Street
