i am thinking of changing my substrate (?sp) to either fine black gravel or sand and possibly live plants too heres what the tank looks like now.

its a 15 gallon with stocking of:
4 bettas (female)
2 Bn plecos (female)
1 small clown loach
3 Cardinal tetras
5 Neon tetras
i know its over stocked but the laoch will be moving out soon

so how do you think i could improve it?

I agree a black gravel substrate would look better as well as more plants, but i love sand personally so i think a black sand substrate instead of a gravel one would be even better (or natural colour sand or white sand) :) .

how about a mix of black sand and normal sand it looks nice
i done it on my piranha tank :good:
