Till now the fish was looking OK, feeding normally, swimming normally ...

But I have just noticed that the fish is sitting at the bottom very steady and not moving a lot. I have never seen her doing that.

I am worried that she is sick and may die.

I think she is stressed by something. What can I do to help her.

Thanks in advance.

Need to look at your water stats with having a goldfish in the tank as there massive waste producers.
Does it look like bleaching bemeath the skin.
Slime coat can go thinner when a fish is stressed.
If there no signs of flicking and rubbing I would issolate the fish and try a bacterial med.

Water stats are normal. Ammonia, Nitrite 0. pH = 7.2

I have a 180 itres tank with 7 angels, 5 peral gourami, 2 zebra loach and 1 (small) goldfish. Out of which 2 angels are in a separate tank at the moment.

Unfortunately I dont have another tank to move this fish and do the treatement.

It does not look like bleaching beneath the skin.

I am not sure how much you can make out from the attached picture but the rear part of the fish is much darker compared to the front. And sometimes the colour changes so that the whole body is same colour (dark, bright colour). I have other pearl gouramis in the tank and I must say this has better colour (except that it develops two shades as shown in the picture) compared to the other female.

Today the fish seems to be more active compared to yesterday. Fingers crossed everything will be alright.

I will keep you posted.

Ok just keep a close eye on him.
