Hi
I have a 125 litre Fluval tank L80xW35xH45cm (think it's a roma?) and I'm wondering about stocking levels. Thinkfish says 49inches but I've read on here a few times that it is too generous?? and pfk says 25-50inches depending on water changes and size of fish. At the moment I have the following:
1 hoplo cat - 7"
8 black neons -8x2"=16"
2 kuhli loach - 3"
I calculate that to be 26" already so in theory that might be the maximum according to the low level on pfk website. Do you think this is right? I set up the tank 2 weeks ago and cloned it from the previous tank so the water quality is fine (Ammonia and nitrite 0) and has been from the beginning. I would like to add 2 rams if possible but I'm not sure if this would be ok? I'm doing 30% water changes once a week.
Ideally I would like to add a bit of colour to the tank but if I am already maxed out then I'll stick with what I've got.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Well I bought the rams today and they are settling in well I think. Do you think that's all I can put in now? I would love to put a small plec in and the lfs (Maidenhead Aquatics) has some peppermint plecs and gold nugget plecs which I think are gorgeous. I would love a bit more colour though and I'm thinking maybe either a pair of small gouramis or some tetras/gold barbs?
Please help or tell me to stop dreaming!
Thanks

If you do regular water changes, you could get a small plec, like you said. :good:

Thanks
I'm thinking about the small peppermint plec for now.
Are gouramies and rams compatible? I'd like something that likes the top of the tank, I've had dwarf gouramies before and the both died mysteriously so I'm a bit wary of them but do like gouramies in general. As the rams are quite pretty and frilly I don't know if a gourami would attack it?
If not any suggestions for colourful mid to top fish?
Thanks!
