Stocking Question

so i have an empty 55 gal right now
i have 2 cascade 150 which are 40 gallon filters apiece and 150gph
will that effect the amount of fish i could have or should i just go for the 1 inch rule

The one inch rule only counts for smaller fish. Less than 6 inches at adult size. Post some of the fish you want and we can help for sure.

platies
angels
cories
black ghost knife fish
festivus
and maybe firemouth

Firemouths are highly agressive compared to the other fish. I wouldn't risk them with any of those. Angels platies cories and tetras would all be a fine mix, but the ghost knife could eat smaller tetras, and could be slightly nippy to angelfish and other large, relatively slow moving fish.

i want to also put something in thats different (which is why i like the black ghost knife) to be like the star of my tank
any ideas?
