OK, differing opinions, calculators etc have brought me to making this post. I apologise in advance.

40g UK. Internal Juwel filter, weekly 20% water changes. My current stocking:

4 juvie angelfish = total of 24" at adult size??
3 corys = total of 7.5" fully grown?
1 moonlight gourami = up to 6"
1 sailfin leopard pleco = ?!?!?!?!?!

I know I am already pushing my luck with stocking because the pleco is outgrowing the tank, however... I'd like some swordtails, if possible, or some harlequins (would they be too small and get eaten?!). I am willing to rehome the gourami, and I am considering another tank for the pleco. How can I do this, if at all? Any advice appreciated!!

people don't seem to be too impressed with the abilities of the juwel filter. If you more filtration, you should be able to get by with adding a few more fish - keeping in mind that livebearers have babies - but those will be angle snacks and the pleco will have to be rehomed at some point, though it seems like you realize that.
