Alright, so I've revently aquired a free ecplise system 12, a 12 gallon tank.

I'm either going to be stocking it with Saltwater fish (possibly a reef system if I can find the proper lighting that'll fit the hood), or a brackish water tank.

I'd like to know however, what are some species of backish water fish that I could put into a tank this size, as I know it's very small.

Certainly gobies, though there are more than just BBGs to play with. Redigobius balteatus ("rhinohorn goby") seems to be relatively widely sold these days. Other small gobies turn up periodically, and even if they're freshwater species, they'll adapt to SG 1.005 just fine. You could then add some brackish water invertebrates. Shrimps are ideal, and apart from Amano shrimps, red-nose shrimps are also good choices for the low-end brackish system. Most shrimps will probably adapt to brackish water if acclimated carefully. Then there's snails: nerites are the obvious choices here, and some species will do better in brackish than fresh. Throw in a few Endler guppies for the top of the tank and plant with Cryptocoryne and Anubias spp., and bang, perfect mini-beast aquarium!

Cheers, Neale
