I have a 100L 3foot tank to stock. I am going to have 4 2cm electric yellow cichlids and 2 3cm hoplos and pair of BristleNose ata ph of 7.8. And when the yellows get to a sexable size i will sell any excess male so i only have 1 to lesser the aggression. I am wondering if i could have a pair or sailfin mollys in this tank? The yellow cichlids im getting parents and themselves have been brought up in a tank with fish like kribs danios and small tetras without them being eaten.

There are very few cichlids that people would suggest to keep with small community fish, if you want more fish id suggest stray away from either cichlids or bog standard community and have a species tank :)

There arent going to be any small comunity fish in there. The mollys are about 8cm and the parents of my mollys were about 12cm and very solid. and the bristlenose will be about 10cm abd the hoplos get to 18cm. So whats so small about any of these fish? The electric yellows only get to a max of 15cm and the parent of the ones im getting are being kept with small fish and are 12cm.

Its the aggression I would worry about, I think its better to do one type eg. a cichlid tank, or a community with mollies. But thats just my opinion.

yeh i agree either a cichlid tank or a community tank. i personaly would go with a community tank. you will be able to have more fish have fry in it and all sorts, were as if you have a cichlid tank you can only have a few and agression levels will reach high. but its up to you whatever floats your boat.
good luck on whatever you decide
