can i use still water sold at groceries on my freshwater tank?
it worked out that this is cheaper than buying RO water.
i want 0ppm on nitrates and low gH.

I dont see why it wouldn't, just check the ingrediants lable on the back to make sure theres nothing other than H2O in there.

wow its really cheaper than RO? i wouldnt know as ive never went down that route.

would buying your own RO unit not work out cheaper? even only after a couple of months water changes?

my first plan was to buy an RO system.
the minus i found about the system:
-> costly for good quality system
-> maintenance cost
-> waste water produced - you only get 10-15% of input water

still water at asda costs 17p/2L with containers
RO at my lfs £3/25L without container.

still water is usually mineral water, dissolved through rocks to take on elements. It is going to be nowhere near as pure as RO water.

Would be interesting to see the TDS level of that product.

hi again andywg.
i just need a low gH and almost zero nitrate for my freshwater..
i do not need the purity of RO water.
if i ever go the RO route, i will even mix it with tap water.

we are currently using still mineral water from sainsbury for our drink water but they are a bit expensive.
the plain still water are cheaper maybe because they are distilled water and not mineral water.
