Yesterday, I noticed this narrow, stick growing out of my plant. It was about 5 inches long and had this pointed, "arrow-like" case at the end. I don't know the name of the plant, but has long narrow flowing leaves and I got it from a package that had aquarium bulbs to grow. Now, that thin stick (it looks like so sort of vine only straight) is about 22 inches long and is trailing at the surface. What is it?
The plant is an aponogeton, and they will eventually send a shoot above the surface. If your aquarium has an open-top, you will get to see a little flower bloom.
