I am thinking about getting the Eclipse Explorer just as my first tank and plan on getting a bigger one around christmas like a 20-29 gallon. Do you think this is a good starting tank and if not let me know of any others. Also take into consideration that i only have like 30 dollars to spend on the tank lol im only 17 with no job.

I don't know how big an eclipse explorer is. A 20 gallon is a pretty good beginner tank though, its easy to find and not that expensive. The bigger the tank the easier it is to take care of but harder to pay for. If you can find a good garage sale sometimes you can pick up used tanks for really cheap.

If it is the 2 gal. tank you won't be able to stock many fish.. but hey.. it gets you started!

What guppymonkey said is true. The smaller the tank is, the harder it is to care for. I don't know how small the tank you're talking about is, but I would urge you to look for a previously enjoyed tank that fits within your budget. I think a lot of potential aquarists get turned off the hobby by starting out with a tank which is much too small and difficult to stabilize.
