Start Anew Again?

So my cousin got some eco complete subtrate. he decided not to use it and gave it it me. Since i have the same substate, I was thiking of combining them together. So the thing is do i have to start all over again from a fishless cycle? I know i gotta aquascape the aquarium but does my aquarium need to start all over again?

Is the aquarium already running with fish and a filter?  If so, just add the substrate and your good to go

Yeah if the tanks been running already and you still have the same filter then youre good. You might want to put the substrate in a bucket and take out all the fine grains that float so it doesnt screw up your filter  but yeah you should be good.

The tank is already filled fish and a filter.

Do you need more substrate than you currently have in your tank? Adding more substrate to your tank, just to add it isn't necessary. If you need it for some reason, then it is fine. No need to worry about the bacteria, they will be fine. Rinsing the material to remove the fine bits is a good suggestion. But fear not, it would not affect your cycle.
