Spray Bar

Hi, I found a spray bar for my filter just before, I must have had it since I got the filter but never noticed it. Anyway it seems to be the perfect solution for my filter which is quite powerful and cxauses a strong current I know a lot of fish dont really like. Is it ok to keep the bar on permenantly now or will this affect the filtration?
