well Ian had an enforced day off yesterday so I took the day off too, decided to go visit tropical world. it's just down the road from us and only 3 quid to get in, not expecting much of it but thought it's pass a few hrs, was really cool actually. sort of like a mini slightly naff version of the eden project!

had rain forest bits, and swamp bits, fishy bits, lizards and stuff, was pretty cool. took some pics i thought i'd share

walked past a bit of roundhay park before going in and saw this little fella sat nibbling on some nuts, was very cute

in the rain forest bit they had big ponds with enormous koi in them, loads of little fish swimming around them, took us a minute to twig that they were malawi's!! now i'm sure there's all sorts wrong with having them together but we didn't see a single poorly looking fish so it can't be that awful!

yey! looks like you had a great time! love the kite :p

Warning!!!!! I'm going there tomorrow with small child!!!

I love the place and go 3 or 4 times a year. Shame they got rid of the big pond a you walked in. They were the biggest carp and koi I have seen in an artificial pond (have a talented fisherman for a dad, so have seen 30lb carp in my time!)

Glad you had a good visit

Cool pictures, thanks for sharing. I think those are merekats, the ones that were all piled on top of each other.
