So Frustrating!

When I read about pearl gouramis it always says that females are harder to find because they aren't as pretty. Well I have 3 females and no males because every time I do find them in a pet or fish shop all they have are females!!! It shouldn't be this hard, right?

You can ask your LFS to order a male pearl gourami for you.
 
I have ordered stocking from LFS before, just means can be a little more pricey and sometimes a bit of a wait for order to come in.
 
But yes, it shouldnt be that hard

Lol! When I got mine I had to educate the sales girl on how to tell males from female because she didn't think you could. This is the same girl who tried to tell me cycling only takes a few days too though.

This is unfortunately fairly common from a lot of LFS, though have to say a lot of them ARE improving and staff are more aware of fishkeeping and also of fishless cycling information.
 
Lets hope they continue to improve
 
And of course you get the male gouramis you want too

The owner of the store seems to know his stuff at least. If only he'd educate his staff.
