I have a 33g (80x46x35cm, 128l) tank. I currently have 10 corydoras nanus and 4 panda garra in it.

I fell in love with the look of the snakeskin barbs, but there is a lot of conflicting information online about the tank size needed (some as low as 15g, one place said 100g would be reccomended for a group) so I have no idea if I can keep them on my tank.
Can I keep them? If so, how many? If not, what smaller schooling fish would you reccomend?

Snakeskins can get up to around 8" long, though usually not that big in a tank. They do seem to be fairly social, and I would think a group would be too big for a 33g. You might look into pearl gouramis, though. They are beautiful, fairly peaceful, and you could keep a group of three (a male and two females) in a 33g, assuming all else is suitable for them.

Tell us a little more about your setup, though. What is your water temperature? How hard is your water? How is your tank decorated and filtered? All of these things can influence what fish you should keep.

I think you are talking about the snakeskin gourami, and not the snakeskin barb? All sites I saw said the barbs get to around 2-2,5" , and the gourami does get to 8" so that would check out.
My tank is planted, and has a big piece of driftwood inside, I keep it at 23 C. I have freshly set up a co2 systhem as I really want to grow blyxa japonica. The tank itself is around 90 days old now.

You're right, I was thinking of a completely different fish. Oops. I don't know anything about snakeskin barbs!

I do a little about Blixa japonica, though. I grew some huge ones in a low-tech tank with no CO2! Really interesting looking plant, and fry love to hide out in it.

I was trying my best and damdest to grow it without co2, but it just melted :( Scince adding the co2 it is beginning to grow

It's strange, sometimes. I've had some plants that were supposedly dead easy to grow that just die off, and others that are said to be almost impossible, that grow like weeds. Same with "easy" and "difficult" fish. Something in the water, I suppose.

Anyway, I hope you find some info on snakeskin barbs. This might help: Seriously fish is my go-to for helpful and accurate information.
