Snails

got a few snails that hitch hiked on some plants, now they are breeding like crazy picked as many as i could out by hand but not really accomplishing anything any one got any tips?

bit of lettuce weighted down. Leave it over night and hopefully you'll have some on it. Remove it and snails, and repeat with a new bit of lettuce. Also works to pour boiling water over the lettuce and leave for a minute to soften it.

To add to that, try it with a saucer or better yet, a cup so you can maximise how many you get without losing any as you take the lettuce out. I've got a similar problem in my planted tank but haven't bothered with the snails yet. A few of them I actually want but most of them are just the annoying yet harmless pond snail variety.
