Snails..and The Different Types

i thought i had a tank full of common snails, which were rounded backs like the type you find in your pond ect ect

but i recently aquired a few with long pointed shells, are these just 2 varients on the common snail?

The long cone-like ones in your tank are probably malaysian trumpet snails/MTS.

does indeed look like ive got the malaysian ones in my snail tank now as well
