i've rescaped my large tank too many times to remember now, cleaned everything, steriized everything, recycled the filters etc, but snails keep getting in from the plants, even though i can see there are no snails on them

i'm currently going through a rescape, but i dont want it to happen again, how can i make sure there arent any snails on the plants? i thought of setting up a quarantine tank for the plants but i'd like your ideas for ways to get rid of the snails themselves form the plants

merci!

sorry for the spelling, i'm in a rush and my keyboard is dying -.-

many thanks

wash the plants before putting them in your tank, or put some lettuce in and remove when covered in snails, or just keep picking them out when you see them

You can try giving the plants a short (10 minutes or so) 'bath' in a fairly strong salt solution, but it's not foolproof, some snail eggs do seem to survive even that

Picking them out when I saw them didn't really work to be fair, they breed about 90 times as fast as me, my kuhli's and my army of assasin snails could kill/eat themI'll try that fluttermoth, salt bath and then I'll leave them for a few days/a week and see what comes off, of course, I will clean them before hand, I'll also do that with the plants I've managed to salvageThe gravel has already been thrown, its pets at home gravel, I have a feeling they spray it black as some of it was peeling offWildwoods gravel for me then :') at least that's black the whole way through, rather than paintI'm considering mixing black and white gravelI also had a lot of snails on my bogwood... A kettle of boiling water soon saw to that one

Sorry about the spacing issues if you can see them, if not it's just my phone... For some reason this website doesn't register a line gap as a line gap from a blackberry
