my kribs are always having fry, which i find quite annoying. so i am thinking of selling them to my lfs and getting a pair of other fish.

can you guys suggest some small (equal to or less than 4") alternative to kribs that is outgoing and would reside in my two custom-made inverted flower pot caves? i want outgoing fish because my two kribs are always hiding together inside one of the flower pots.

would bolivian rams or rosy barbs be a small, outgoing alternative?

I don't really have a fish reccomendation BUT I would say if you are having a problem with fish hiding in the caves, why not remove the caves and create other hiding spots that would be more visible to the observer? More plantings, slate/rocks, bogwood, etc?

Easy. Apistogrammas!

They will breed but if you don't want to be concerned with raising fry add a few tankmates like small tetras and/or corydoras. They will spend some time in their caves but are generally pretty outgoing.

What size tank? Generally they need a 15 gal. Some smaller species may be OK in a 10.

not that hardy, you still need soft acidic water and you cannot keep a pair of rams in a 10gallon 20 gal min (i think) rosy barbs are nice fish but in my opinion not as outgoing as kribs

I have a pair of Anomalochromis Thomasi ,They are Cichlids the same size as Rams. Very bright colouration, and always out and about, great little fish!!!!
