The males will be the lazy ones sitting there not doing much, probably trying to watch tv out of the tank and eyeing up the females as they swim by. The females will be the ones who keep trying to catch a glimpse of themselves in the glass reflection to check they look okay and asking each other if their bums look big.

I agree, in my silver tip tetras there was a very clear difference between males and females. The females were silver while the males are like the photo in the link posted. The females always got chased by the males, so I would recommend having more females than males.
