Silver Sharks

do you think a silver shark would eat a amano shrimp or are they just good at hiding? i got 5 the other day and can only see one of them in the tank.

I think the amano shrimp should be fine unless they are really small juvenile ones- amano shrimp are very good at hiding, the best way to lure them out is to get some catfish pelets or algae wafers for them to eat and drop them at the front of the tank .

a fully grown bala would be more than capable of picking off an amano shrimp, but amano's are also very good at hiding!

how big are the bala sharks?

Having seen the way my subadult balas (6"+) wolf down feeder shrimp up to 2" and beyond, I would not recommend keeping amano shrimp in a tank with balas long term.

Ah i would go with andys advice then, he has more experience with bala/silver sharks than me, while i'm experienced at keeping amano shrimp.
